Are you thinking about getting a telescope? Do you already have one, but would like to learn how to get more out of it? Join Casper Planetarium staff members Michele Wistisen and Rod Kennedy on Wednesday, March 27, for a workshop that will cover the basics of selecting and using a home telescope, as well as observing the Moon, planets, and constellations.
The workshop will run from 10 am to 3 pm. You’ll learn about different sizes and types of telescopes, see a presentation in the dome, do some hands-on observing, and go home with a star wheel, planet locator, and other useful handouts.
No need to worry about students missing school, either — the 27th is right in the middle of Spring Break week for Natrona County schools.
The cost is $30 per person, which includes lunch. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the entire workshop (one $30 admission covers both the child and the adult). The workshop is limited to 12 participants. You can indicate your interest by submitting the form below, but your spot will not be reserved until we receive your payment (please mail to Casper Planetarium, 904 North Poplar, Casper 82601, or stop by during regular business hours). We can accept cash or checks, but not debit or credit cards.
